The service

Domduck reads public information about domains and shows you what it read, with the history. The tracking core is free and puts no cap on how many of your own domains you track.

Domduck comes as it is. There is no uptime guarantee, no support commitment, and no warranty. It is a free product run by a small project, and promising otherwise would not be true.

What we do commit to is honesty about whether it works. That is the job of the status page and the changelog.

Your account

Sign-in works by emailed link. Keep access to that mailbox, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.

One person, one account. Do not share an account across a team yet, because there is no team model to share it correctly.

Acceptable use

Do not use Domduck to compile a bulk dataset of ratings. The public checker takes one domain per request and is rate limited for this reason. Bulk lookups need an account and stay inside the limits shown on the page.

Do not resell the readings as a data feed. Do not try to read another account’s list. Do not point the service at hosts that are not reachable on the public internet, or use it to attack a third party.

We can end an account that does these things.

The data, and how you may use it

Domduck collects readings from public sources and from its own daily requests. Domduck publishes its own record, meaning the dated series it builds, for you to read, cite and share.

Cite it as Domduck and link back to the page you took it from. Do not republish the corpus in bulk or present it as your own dataset.

Source data belongs to its sources and their terms apply to it. Domain Rating comes from Ahrefs. The popularity rank comes from Tranco. Registration data comes from the registries through RDAP.

Badges

A badge is yours to embed on a site you control. It renders what Domduck last collected. Do not modify the image, and do not present the number as coming from anyone else.

Changes to these terms

Changes land on the changelog first. If you keep using the service after that, you accept them.
